I was emailed by one of their recruiters the day after I applied. Within a few days I had a 15 minute phone call with the first person who reached out to me. We talked about my current position and why I want to work at AdRoll. Then he asked why in particular I wanted to work at the position I was applying for. After that he said everything seemed aligned and we'd be moving to the next stage of interviews. The following week I had a 30 minute phone interview with someone at the position I would be hired for. I thought it went really well, and I answered every question thoroughly. She even responded with "that's a good answer" for a few. The next day after my 30 minute interview I was called and told "the response wasn't strong enough and we will not be moving forward". A very vague reason. I inquired via email as to what was missing - but was told they didn't get any feedback. The overall experience was positive, and I'm glad they were able to tell me quickly they wouldn't want to move forward, but I wish they were a little more specific as to why they didn't want to offer me the position.

I applied online and heard back pretty much the next day, which was super quick. The first step was a phone interview with a senior person. It was a pretty standard chat to see if I knew about AdRoll and what 'retargeting' is. They also asked about my weekend hobbies, seems like they really care about finding someone who fits the team vibe rather than just if you're qualified. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview with three senior folks. I felt like I answered most of the questions well, though there were maybe one or two I'd like to re-do. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the next stage, but it was a decent experience overall. Definitely brush up on your knowledge of metrics, analytics, CPC, CPM, CPA, and related concepts. Most of the team seems to be in their mid to late twenties.

Applied online and an assistant reached out about a week later to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was a short 15-minute chat with basic questions about my familiarity with the company and relevant experience. The next day, I got an invite for an on-site interview with three interviewers. Since I live far away, it took some planning to get to the office. I felt good about the on-site interview, and the assistant contacted me the following day to schedule another round of interviews later that week. I mentioned the difficulty of traveling again, and they suggested I let them know when I'd be in town next. I explained it would be at least a month due to classes and travel costs on a student budget, and I'd prefer a video call. The assistant said they don't do video interviews, which seemed strange for a tech company. After that, they stopped responding to my emails to set up the second on-site interview, even after a few follow-ups. The process was quick but came off as unprofessional, especially the assistant's communication and attitude, which made me lose respect for the company.
