Technical Coding

Started with a recruiter call where they told me about the company. Then had a phone interview with the lead dev. After that, I did an on-site interview with the lead dev and the team. It involved coding on the spot for a good while and then we reviewed the code. Overall, a very technical and logical interview process, pretty standard stuff.

I had a face to face with the Account Manager and Recruitment Director, then a phone interview with the HR team, followed by another phone interview with the Sales Manager. After that, I met the team and visited the offices, and also went to lunch with them.

Behavioral

I found this job on LinkedIn and was brought in for an onsite interview the day after my phone screen. The office seemed really young. I suspect they chose their downtown location specifically to attract young people with a salary of only $50k, which is pretty low for San Diego. While the people were nice, it felt too junior for me, and I don't think they're equipped to offer competitive salaries or remote work because the younger staff might not be able to handle that level of responsibility. They also seemed unsure about what interview questions are even legal to ask, and they were confused why I wouldn't include a job I had when I was 25 on my resume. It was pretty silly, almost as silly as suggesting I should also add my job at McDonald's when I was 15.

I had a couple of interviews with Nextgen staff, and then I had a technical meeting with the final customer's technical team. After that, I got the job, and they told me right away, about 2 hours after the interview with the customer's staff.
