I applied, and about a week later, they called me to set up an interview phone call. I had that call the very next day. After the phone call, they invited me to the store for an in-store assessment. I had to pick out an outfit, work on the shop floor, and handle the packages. Afterwards, I got a 10 pound gift card and was told I got the job. You gotta be super smiley and friendly.

Behavioral Other

I applied online and got invited for an interview. The process was a bit disappointing. After online forms, I had a phone interview, and then a face-to-face interview the next day. It was a one-on-one with a team leader. There were a few questions about the job, like why I want to work there and what I know about Next. Then I had to fill out paperwork for right to work, NI number, availability, and a contract. The practical part involved helping in the women's changing rooms, learning how to approach customers and handle tried-on clothes. The manager didn't watch this much and came back about 20-30 minutes later. Back in the staff room, I looked at more paperwork about holidays and availability. They gave me £10 for 'interview expenses', which was weird since it was cash. I was told I'd get feedback in 2 days, but I never got a call. I called the store, but couldn't get feedback. I assumed I was rejected because I didn't hear back before induction, even after calling them myself. Awful experience.

I applied online and went through a pretty lengthy online assessment. It included situational, numeracy, and skills/attributes questions. After passing that, I got a surprise 10-minute phone call, which I think went well even though I wasn't ready. Then, I was invited in-store for a team assessment and trial shift. We did a few tasks around the store, like finding an order in the stockroom or picking the best sofa for a customer and explaining why. After those tasks, we went back to the staff room, signed some papers, and I was offered the job, plus got a £10 gift card.
