About a year and a half back, I went through the interview process at Next Insurance. It was pretty organized and felt professional. It kicked off with a technical interview where I was asked some coding questions, and then I had to do a take-home assignment. After I turned that in, we had another interview to go over the assignment, which I think went pretty well. Then came an HR interview. The last step was a 30-minute design interview with the group manager. The question was about how to design an elevator system. Even though I felt like that last interview was okay, they told me I didn't make it because they weren't convinced that interview was strong enough. All in all, the process was pretty clear and seemed fair, but I was bummed out that I didn't get an offer.

Started with a technical interview focused on coding and logic, which went really well. After that, there was a take-home assessment to build a website displaying movies from an API. This took a significant amount of time, about 10-15 hours. Following the assessment, there was another interview to discuss the project, which also seemed to go well. Then, there was an HR interview. The HR was 10 minutes late, and honestly, she came across as unreasonable. Despite that, the conversation was okay. She mentioned the next step was an in-office visit and suggested we'd connect that day or the next. However, I didn't hear back for three days. Then, late at night before a holiday, I received an email basically saying 'thanks for your time and good luck.' The HR didn't even bother to call to say we weren't a good fit, especially after I invested about 17 hours in total for their hiring process. It was a disgusting display of behavior and poor company values. The HR/talent acquisition team needs to realize candidates aren't slaves and deserve respect for their time. So, in conclusion, it was a horrible HR/talent acquisition experience. Avoid this company and don't waste your time!
