Assistant Brand Manager
I applied on LinkedIn and heard back immediately to set up an interview with the CEO. Right after a brief conversation, the CEO expressed his disappointment with the person who arranged the interview, as they seemingly should have filtered me out. The job title is deceptive, and the whole experience seemed unprofessional and demoralizing. As others have noted, this company is hiring for sales positions at AT&T kiosks in locations like Costco, even though the job postings don't mention this. Only apply if you're looking for sales roles; don't trust the job title or description.
- Can you share your experience?
Sales Manager
So we've got this random word generator thing, right? Like, English has a ton of words, so we just took out the weird ones and the small ones, like 'a' or 'the.' Then we picked the most used words and made this generator. It's pretty cool because you can just keep clicking, and you'll probably never get the same list twice! It's like a game for people learning English. You get ten random words and then you gotta write a story using them in the order you got 'em. The interview process itself involved a recruiter call, a phone screen, a technical screen, an onsite, and a presentation.
- What relevant experience do you have?
- How long have you been in sales?
- Can you detail your previous job titles?
Event Coordinator
The interview process started with a recruiter phone call and then two in-person interviews. The first in-person interview was super short, like 10-15 minutes with the hiring manager, mostly just to get to know you and see if you're a good fit. They asked about my personality and strengths. If they liked you, they sent an online personality test to fill out. The second in-person interview was a group thing with 4 other people, and it lasted about an hour and a half. We watched a presentation about the company and then had to answer questions about it. After that, we had a more in-depth interview with the hiring manager where they talked about the pay, which is $10/hr or 10% commission, and the drug screening. They also mentioned how they promote from within and the opportunities to move up. They really downplayed that the job is basically going to places like Costco to sell products for online-only vendors, like a road show. I never met the CEO. It seems like a good way to get sales experience for college students but not for college grads looking for a career start.
- What is your greatest strength?
- How would you handle a customer who isn't interested?
- What are your core values?
Marketing Associate
The process was pretty straightforward. Started with an initial phone screening where we discussed the general responsibilities of the job. Then I had a 1-on-1 interview which was also quite easy. They asked me to explain how my past experience aligned with this role. We finished with a more detailed discussion about the roles and any questions I might have had.
- What is your motivation for seeking this position?
- How does your previous experience make you a good fit for this role?
- Could you elaborate on the specific responsibilities involved?
