Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nexius.
Project Coordinator
It was a multi-stage interview process. I started with a pre-recorded video interview online. I had to log into a website/app, watch pre-recorded video questions from a company staff member, and then record myself answering each question. I got one practice video to get set up, then I had a limited time (1-2 minutes) for one shot at recording each answer. After submitting, I got an email from the company for a phone interview with HR. Following that, I had another phone interview with a different staff member, and then a final phone interview with someone else. So, I spoke with three distinct individuals in total. The entire process spanned about three weeks. HR emailed me between stages to let me know if I was moving forward, as I didn't know the total number of interviews upfront; they were revealed one by one. Everyone was very pleasant, and the HR person mentioned I did well and was liked, but they ultimately chose another candidate with more directly relevant experience.
- Introduce yourself.
- Describe how you manage interactions with challenging individuals.
Project Coordinator
Had a pre-recorded video interview first, then got invited for 3 separate phone interviews that happened 5 days apart. After that, I waited 2 weeks and was told they gave the job to someone else.
- Can you tell me about your industry knowledge?
- How do you handle working with challenging individuals?
Project Coordinator
The interview process was not great. I was contacted to set up a one-way video interview. Each question had a time limit, which made me really nervous. After the interview, I tried to reach out to the recruiter, but I didn't get a direct response. About a week later, I received a generic rejection email. I think they should at least schedule a phone screen where candidates can interact with the recruiter and learn more about the company and the position. A one-way video interview is nerve-wracking and shows that the company doesn’t care about interacting with candidates. This might be a good indication of how they treat their employees.
- What makes you want to join Nexius?
