Nexient Java Developer Interview Questions

Overall had 2 interviews, pretty good. It was a mix of technical and behavioral. Focused on Java framework tech, front end. Each interview was about an hour long, with one interviewer each. High level stuff. Covered CI/CD tools, web services, Spring, Hibernate. Then went into database questions like queries, stored procedures, joins, indexes, views. Also touched on loops, collections, interfaces, inheritance, and general development experience, education, background. That was pretty much it.

So Nexient is a really bad company, super dishonest. The HR person in Ann Arbor was a total jerk and lied about the interview process, plus ignored my emails. They make you take a personality test interview which is bogus, based on fake psychology. The HR interviewer was unprofessional and embarrassed the technical interviewer, which was awkward. A friend who worked there said it "sucks" there and has "crappy pay, crappy projects, crappy benefits." They pay entry-level people around $40k/year, which is not enough to live in Ann Arbor. They try to act like Facebook with Nerf guns and free soda, but it's just a bunch of quiet people staring at screens. I'm glad I didn't get an offer, because I got another offer for $20k more. Basically, Nexient is awful with bad pay, only consider them if you have no other choice.

First, there's a phone interview where you'll do some coding while a recruiter watches online. Then, you'll have an in-person test with multiple-choice questions and a chat with a developer, followed by a CBI interview with someone from HR.
