Sales Development Representative
My first interaction was a recruiter call, which went really well and made me enthusiastic about the position. Next, I had a Zoom interview scheduled with the hiring manager. They had to postpone our meeting by 30 minutes, just 15 minutes before it was supposed to start, which I was okay with. The manager joined a bit late and mentioned they were double-booked. They seemed unprepared and would have these really long, awkward silences. I'm not sure if they were intentionally pausing or just struggling to come up with questions, but sometimes they'd stop speaking mid-sentence for over 10 seconds, which was super off-putting. During one of my responses, they even started chuckling softly, as if they were watching something or reading a message. I couldn't tell if they were laughing at me or what, but it felt very unprofessional. They did admit it's one of the toughest SDR roles in Utah, citing 'dentists being busy' as the reason, which seemed like a weak justification since everyone's busy. I got a really bad feeling from the interaction and decided to decline the offer. It would be better to avoid laughing during candidate answers and to have your questions prepared.
- What are you hoping to find in a new job
Sales Development Representative
The interview process has three main parts. First, there's an initial phone screen with an account executive, where you'll get the usual questions plus some interesting and tough ones. Next, you'll have a team interview with two other employees. This was also a fun interview and you can expect some thought-provoking questions. Lastly, the final part is with a sales manager. I found this the most challenging but also the most helpful part. You'll role-play as an SDR trying to set up a meeting with a practice individual. The feedback from the sales manager was really useful and helped me see some of my pitching mistakes. I'm thankful for the Nexhealth interview process because it's rare to be challenged with interesting questions and also learn about yourself at the same time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
- Who is your biggest motivator and what makes them so?
- Can you tell me about someone who inspires you and the reasons behind it?
Sales Development Representative
This was the best interview experience I've had because they were more interested in me as a person and how I'd fit the team, rather than sounding like a robot. The first interview was with a recruiter and had more questions than expected. The second interview was with an Account Manager and was a really insightful conversation that taught me a lot, even though I prepped a lot for potential questions. The third interview involved two 30-minute chats with former SDRs, which were super nice and casual. The fourth interview was a cold call scenario with the Manager. They give you two tries, and after the first, they offer advice on how to improve before you go again. Just show your interest and confidence.
- Can you tell me about your greatest accomplishment?
