Recruiting Coordinator
Setting up the interview initially was fine, but the interview itself with the person who I believe was a recruiter was terrible. They were really stuck-up and asked me the same questions repeatedly. It was so annoying, I wanted to leave the video call early but knew that would be unprofessional. They kept asking me "Why are you looking to move now? Why are you leaving your current employer?" Even though I gave detailed and positive responses, it wasn't enough. It felt like they wanted me to bad-mouth my current company, and it was all just too much. Usually, I send thank-you notes after interviews, but I had no reason to thank this person; they wasted my time and theirs.
- Why are you thinking of leaving your current employer?
- Why are you looking for employment right now?
Recruiter
The whole process took about 2 weeks from the first recruiter chat to the final panel presentation. Before the panel presentation, I had 3 interviews. Then I got to talk with some team members to get ready for the presentation. This helped me understand the actual problems they're working on and what my role and coworkers would be like.
- Can you outline a strategy for hiring 50 engineers within the next six months?
Recruiting Coordinator
I first chatted with the recruiter for about 30 minutes. Then, I met with the Hiring Manager for another 30 minutes. After that, they sent me a case study prompt and I had to prepare a presentation for the final interview. Before the final interview, I was able to talk to two team members to ask questions that would help me with my presentation. Finally, I met with the whole team of 4 people and delivered my case study presentation.
- What's the most difficult thing you've ever accomplished outside of your professional life?
