I had a few online interviews with different people from the team and department heads. We talked about the role and my experience, and they seemed really interested in what I had to say. It was a good experience, everyone was really nice.

It was a long process from submitting my application to getting the initial call and then the actual interviews. It took over three months from when I submitted my application until I finally received an offer. The HR department wasn't very communicative between when I sent my application and when I received an interview request. It took so long I had forgotten I had even applied and interviewed for the role.

I had an initial chat with the recruiter, but then they hit me with a FREE design test, which involved a full page redesign and detailed research, plus a bunch of complicated questions. After that, I went through three more interviews. They initially said I'd know before the holidays if I got the job, but then changed their tune, saying they'd respond after the holidays. Now it's past the holidays, and not only have I been ghosted by the recruiter even after following up, but the job posting is back up on LinkedIn. If you're a creative or just value yourself as a person, avoid Newsweek. They seem to think AI will fix things, but the real issue is how they treat people. (And for a company claiming to seek truth, their history of jailed execs and high staff turnover is telling.) Seriously, run away from this place.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Got an initial recruiter call pretty quick after applying, where I talked about my situation and why I was looking for a new job. They then asked me to do a task and send it back within 90 minutes, expecting a response in 3 days. I didn't hear back for a week, so I followed up. Still nothing for another week, not even confirmation they got the task. After chasing them a few times, I finally got to the first real interview stage. I talked about my experience and answered other relevant questions, and it seemed to go well. They said I'd hear about a final stage interview within the week (the interview was on a Tuesday). It's now 3 weeks later, and I've been ghosted. I've followed up twice and still heard nothing. It's really bad recruitment practice, especially when someone puts in the effort to prep and do a task. A response, even a rejection, is the least they can do. I hope Newsweek learns from this experience.
