I started by meeting the company at a career fair at my university. Then I had an initial interview on campus, which was actually two separate 30-minute interviews, one with an HR person and another with a sales rep. They were pretty basic, mostly asking me to connect my resume to sales. After that, I was flown to NYC for a reception, cocktail hour, and dinner. The next day was the main event: 7 back-to-back 30-minute interviews with all sorts of people from the company. Most of the questions were variations on "why sales?". My biggest tip is to try to connect with each interviewer personally so they remember you, especially since it's such a long day.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied online for an Account Coordinator role and got called in for an interview. The night before, there was an info session which gave me a good sense of the interviewers. They seemed really open. I checked out the company website and learned about the role and their products. The next day, I had two 30-minute interviews: first with HR, asking about administrative stuff and why I wanted to be in sales, then with the Senior VP Regional Manager of Sales, which was more conversational about my background. Two days later, I got an invite for a final interview at HQ in NY, happening 4 weeks later. They covered all travel and hotel costs, and it was pretty impressive. The event started with a presentation by the CEO, a Q&A with him and others, and some videos about the company culture, followed by a cocktail reception. The next day, we met current Account Coordinators and HR for dinner, which was great for getting insights and tips. Then, I had 7 interviews, each 40 minutes long, with executives and managers. They provided bios of the interviewers beforehand, which helped in preparing thoughtful questions. They also provided breakfast, lunch, and a hotel stay. Everyone was really welcoming and friendly. I got a call two days after that with an offer, which I accepted. The office vibe was young and energetic, with a nice, open layout. Management seemed to really value their employees.

First there was a career fair, then I was invited to sign up for a "pre-interview meeting" to explain the process and for 2 one-on-one interviews. After that, I went to the HQ event in NYC for 2 days. Day 1 included greetings and a cocktail/dinner party, where they kept refilling my wine glass (it's still an interview, so be smart or just have fun...). Day 2 had about 7 back-to-back interviews. They called to offer the position the next day. They really wanted to know that you are 100% about sales, even though you don't start off selling in your first role. Based on talks with other interviewees, management seemed surprised so many of us wanted this position. Ask the questions: "How is it that you can hire so many people?" "What's your turnover rate and why?" "Explain 2 days in the life of the Account Coordinator" "When do I actually get to sell to the clients?"
