Applications Engineer
Initial resume review, then asked about sorting algorithms and ML. The interviewer mentioned ML isn't used much. Then, a star pattern printing question was given. It was in the afternoon, and by then students had already been selected or rejected.
- Can you discuss sorting algorithms?
- What do you know about bubble sort?
- What do you know about quick sort?
Applications Engineer
So for Applications Engineer, usually it starts with a written or online test. This test kinda checks your aptitude, logical reasoning, and if you're going for a tech role like software dev or business analyst, then technical knowledge too. If it's a tech role, expect some programming questions and multiple-choice stuff on algorithms, data structures, and core CS concepts. Then there are the technical interviews, usually 1 to 2 rounds. The first technical round is all about data structures, algorithms, and how you solve problems. They might ask you to code on a whiteboard or an online tool. Later tech rounds can get into specific technologies, frameworks, and tools that are relevant to the job, like Java, .NET, or databases. Also, be ready for some deep dives into the projects you've put on your resume.

Applications Engineer
The interview process has 4 stages. First, an online aptitude test with two parts: one for aptitude and another for flowchart problems, which was average. Second, a psychometric test, which is also an elimination round. Third, a technical interview to check programming skills. Fourth, an HR interview with basic questions like family background, passport possession, reasons for choosing Newgen, and discussion of strengths and weaknesses.
- Could you write a code for sorting and also provide a flowchart for it?
- Do you have knowledge of SQL? If yes, were you asked to write simple queries?
- Can you explain your project?
