First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Newell Brands.
Software Engineer
Newell Brands contacted me via email before a conference they were attending. After I sent them my resume, they offered me an interview at the conference's career fair. I had 2 interviews, each lasting 30 minutes, focusing on behavioral questions.
- Tell me about yourself
- Describe a time you faced a challenge
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Product Development Engineer
They started with a phone interview that had basic behavioral questions and it went well, which then led to an on-site interview. The interview day began at 8am and concluded by 1pm. It kicked off with a company presentation and a light breakfast. After that, the group split; some went on a tour of the test facilities, while others went to interviews. The interviews themselves were straightforward S.T.A.R. behavioral questions. There were two rounds, each with a different team member from the team I would be joining. The day wrapped up with box lunches and a Q&A session with a junior employee. No technical questions were asked at all, it was pretty simple.
- Tell me about a time you had to solve a problem in a creative way.
Software Engineer
It was a chill interview overall, mostly behavioral using the STAR method. The questions were pretty easy, and it was important to just be yourself and friendly. The recruiters were really nice and easy to talk to.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult group.
