First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Newell Brands.
Product Manager
I had one phone interview with a team member. After that, I had another phone interview with the department head. Finally, there was an onsite interview which was 6 hours long. It had five 55min sessions back to back with either one or groups of people.
- Can you discuss some technical questions?
- What's your approach to designing an alarm clock for someone who is blind?
- Could you present on a topic you're passionate about for 5 minutes?
Product Manager
I went through an interview process with a division of Newell during their integration with Jarden. It was pretty apparent from the beginning that there was a lot of uncertainty about how things would shape up post-integration. The whole process felt disorganized, and in the end, they decided to hold off on filling the role until the merger was finalized, which honestly seems like the right call given their apparent lack of direction. They couldn't even nail down a work location, which is a deal-breaker for many potential candidates.
- What are your passions and what excites you?
Product Manager
Initial phone call with the agency, followed by an in-person meeting with them where they explained Newell Brands. Then, I had interviews with HR and the manager. The agency got back to me relatively quickly. The interviews with HR and the manager were quite transparent. After the process, the group seemed attractive.
- What are your expectations regarding management?
