Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Newell Brands.
Digital Marketing Intern
The interview process was simple and straightforward, consisting of easy behaviorist questions. I interviewed with two different people on the same day. It was super easy, and I recommend practicing questions beforehand. It was virtual due to COVID, but it might be in-person now.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your experiences?
Marketing Intern
The process had an informational session about the internship, then a first round interview and a second round interview. The first round felt great, but the second round interviewers seemed disengaged. I followed up with emails but got no response, even though I was told I'd hear back in two weeks. Three months later, HR told me an internship spot was available and I accepted the offer, but then heard nothing. It was pretty frustrating with the false hope and no clear rejection.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to change your priorities due to an unexpected event?
Marketing Intern
I applied online and heard back within a few weeks. The interview was set up for the next week. It consisted of two 30-minute back-to-back sessions, each with a recruiter. The vibe was super chill and upbeat, which made it easy to relax. The interviewers were friendly. They asked about my future career goals and surprisingly, about my current classes.
- Can you share an instance where your team failed to achieve a goal?
- What does your perfect internship look like?
- Tell me about a time you approached a project with innovation.
