I went through 4 interviews with different departments. It felt like they all asked the same things, so you'd have to be ready to answer the same questions multiple times. Even though I applied for position A, it seemed like I talked to every department possible.

The interview with HR was okay, but the hiring manager interview was terrible. He rescheduled more than 3 times last minute, blaming HR for scheduling issues. After all the rescheduling, during the interview, the hiring manager was condescending and kept criticizing my background, saying I lacked certain experiences. The questions he asked were not even related to the job description. It makes me wonder why he would interview me if he didn't think I was a good fit. This hiring manager is ridiculous; I checked his LinkedIn and he's been trying to fill this role for 11 months and still hasn't made a decision.

I applied for a job that got filled, but the recruiter held onto my resume. A few weeks later, he reached out about a new role he thought I'd be a good fit for. We talked, he submitted my resume, and I got an interview pretty quickly. They were flexible with my schedule since I was already working. I interviewed with the category manager and a director back-to-back. They asked basic questions like 'why here?' and 'why you?', then got into specifics like 'which vendor would you target for this category?'. I felt I answered well. A week later, I had a second interview with another director who made the final call. He asked similar questions and some 'what if' scenarios. I made sure to sound confident and took a moment before answering. My recruiter called 30 minutes after and said I got a verbal offer. A background check took a few days, then I got the written offer and accepted.
