Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NewDay USA.
Credit Analyst
The interviewer never called me. I had to call him after 20 minutes waiting. Those 20 minutes was the time I asked to leave work early and ended up wasting it. When the interviewer picked up the phone, he said sorry and that he was busy with other calls. He then said it was just going to be a 10-minute talk. He rushed through the questions. It sounded like he just wanted to get the job done and move on, no feeling of connection. He eventually denied me because I was an international student while the company’s description says that they do not discriminate against citizenship status. I also said I could work in the US for 3 years based on my major. He said the company had 3 year training. Overall, the process and the recruiter were very unprofessional and misinformative.

- How did you find out about us?
- Do you currently have a job while studying?
Credit Analyst
The recruitment process started on campus for both Sales Executive and Credit Analyst roles. The campus recruitment was less intimidating, as the recruiters had an investment in students. The recruiter was helpful and clear about the process. Candidates were asked to take a math assessment (basic arithmetic) and could choose to have their final interview the same day or return later. The interview consisted of two parts: first with an experienced Market Analyst, then with a VP of Sales. The experience was positive and the interviewers were nice.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Credit Analyst
It was a 3-step hiring process: a phone interview and a 2-part in-person interview. The phone interview was pretty standard. The first in-person interview involved a quick tour, a brief discussion about different roles and success factors at NewDay USA, and a math test (I'd recommend brushing up on your math skills!). I also met with a mid-level sales associate to help me figure out which position would be best for me. The final step consisted of two interviews with RVPs, with the recruiter present. Overall, it was a positive experience.
