The interview process included several questions about my previous publications. They asked about how I built the aerial dataset, why I applied transformers in my paper, and how I optimized GS in my work. It was mainly focused on research-related questions and then the interview finished in about 30 minutes. I believe there was a recruiter call first, then this technical screen.

I applied online via LinkedIn and then got an email for a 15-min video interview. After that, I was invited to a Google panel interview with 3 people, which was pretty short, about 25 mins, and no really hard questions. This was mid-Nov, and I didn't hear back until Christmas. I emailed to follow up and was told I'd hear back after the holidays. More time passed, I followed up again in Feb, and instead of a reply, I got an automated rejection email. The whole process took 3 months for a rejection, which was disappointing and felt unprofessional, like they forgot about my application.

After you submit your application, if you've been shortlisted they send you a link to do a video interview. This is where you answer pre-recorded questions by recording your answer. Some questions allow you to re-record, others only give you a couple of turns. If you're successful in passing this round, you then do specific tests (mine was excel) to see if you get through to the next round. If successful you then proceed to panel interviews (I had 2 rounds) and then you wait a very long time to hear back as to whether you were successful or not.

I had an online recorded interview, asking basic questions. After that, we were asked to do a technical test to summarize an article and Excel questions. Then we had an open day, and interviewed different departments (you will be informed in an email with the department chosen). Just be yourself and show your ability.
