Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at New York State Technology Enterprise Corporation.
Consultant
This was a panel interview. It was pretty friendly, but you should be ready to explain how you'll use your expertise for the consulting experience because the ultimate goal is billable hours.
- Could you introduce yourself and explain how your background aligns with the requirements of this position?
Consultant
The interview process was pretty standard. I learned about teamwork and practices. Everyone I met was very friendly, including the HR representative. It was a two-part interview series, and it seemed like the interviewers might have been different people in each part.
- Regarding ETL pipelines, is data integrity a requirement?
Consultant
I had three interviews. First, a recruiter phone chat, then a panel interview with future bosses. Lastly, another panel where we reviewed a work sample I did. They were clear about what they expected. It was a good chat and I really liked it. It felt like an interview for someone with experience, expecting you to know a lot already and have skills you can show would work for the company. They told me my interview was part of a new, updated process, and you could tell. It was super positive, and NYSTEC became my top choice for jobs at that time.
- How would your skills fit into the company culture as you understand it?
