First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at New York County District Attorney.
Paralegal
I went through three rounds for this role. The first interview was with HR, the second with an attorney and analyst, and the last one was with the Bureau Chief. The first two interviews were virtual, but I had the option to come in person or do it on Zoom. All three interviews happened within a two-week period. They let me know quickly if I was moving on to the next round. Everyone I spoke with was really nice and easy to talk to.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.

We had two rounds for this interview. First was meeting with colleagues, second meeting was with Bureau Chiefs. Each lasted about 30 mins. All interviews were separate assessments.

Paralegal
The interview for the DA's office was pretty relaxed and easy. I really wanted this job, and they were upfront about pay, hours, and how they hire. I chatted with two assistant district attorneys who were nice and asked some basic stuff, then moved on to "what would you do if..." type questions. It felt pretty casual the whole time, and the interview was about 35 minutes. I told them I had another offer on the table and needed to know their decision soon. They seemed a bit stressed by that, but I got the job offer two days later. The HR manager will ask you to speak Spanish if you mentioned it on your resume and it's needed for the role. She just asked me to say a few sentences like "can you say the lawyer will be with you in a minute" in Spanish. Really simple if you know Spanish.
- What makes you want to work for the DA's office?
- Could you describe how you'd manage the tougher parts of this job?
- How would you approach a challenging scenario, particularly concerning special victims?
