I first sent in my resume and cover letter. When they called me for an interview, I also had to submit a transcript, personal statement, and two recommendation letters. Normally, I'd think that's a lot, but I understand it for this position. I interviewed with an Assistant District Attorney in the Police Accountability Bureau and it was a really good experience. The interviewer was pretty casual and seemed really interested in me. So, definitely be ready for the usual interview questions and prepare for follow-ups that will make you think.

The whole applying and hearing back about an interview process took about a month. The interview wasn't too bad and wasn't too long, which was good. I met with an ADA who was pretty nice. He asked me pretty basic questions and asked a lot about my resume, cover letter, and writing sample. So, make sure to look back at old things you might not think about too often so you're ready to talk about them.
