First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at New Seasons Market.
Cashier
Right after I applied, I got a call and then interviewed with both the Manager and Assistant Manager for the Front of Store team. It was surprisingly pleasant.
- What makes you want to work at New Seasons?
Cashier
it was a straightforward, two-step interview process. i first met with the human resources coordinator, and then went on to meet with the front end manager. the hardest part was getting called for an interview because there were so many applications.
- What's a weakness you have?
Cashier
I had two interviews for different new store openings. They were friendly, but at the second one, I felt they were really overwhelmed and burned out from interviewing. I've had about seven interviews already, meeting managers and such. I wonder if you need to know someone to get a job there. They asked typical behavioral questions, which I'm good at given my 18 years of customer service experience with all sorts of people, speaking Spanish, and having retail cashier experience. I'm willing to work any shift. It's not complicated. I know a lot goes into hiring, but I stay at jobs where I'm happy, treated well, and paid for my skills. I'm still applying, mainly to say I did, but I'm losing faith. Friends who worked there said it took them a long time to get hired. At a recent Meet the Managers event, everyone was new to Portland, but I have a Portland address and am invested here. Maybe I don't have the 'young hipster look' they want.
- What makes you want to work at this specific location? And why this company?
- What defines excellent customer service?
- Why would you like to work at New Seasons?
