Behavioral Technical Case

The interview was about an hour long and focused on situational questions like "tell me about a time when you...". I was informed that the role would involve minimal meat cutting and lean more towards administrative duties. I interviewed with two managers, which is standard, but my social anxiety was very high. I kept replaying the conversation and criticizing myself afterwards. While the managers were very nice and it might be a good fit for some, it wasn't for me.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interviewers were nice. The interviews were on Zoom. I had an interview with a current HRM, then with the district and regional HRMs. My main issue was being ghosted for two weeks. After the second interview, I was told I'd hear back about a third interview within a week. When I didn't hear anything after a week, I emailed all three interviewers to ask if I was still being considered. No response for another week, then a voicemail from the first interviewer saying they'd call later that day and then again on their next workday (3 days later). Never got that call.

Group Behavioral

They start with a group interview with about 4-10 people applying. The company covers benefits and job expectations. Then, everyone answers some group questions. If you pass, they might call you for a second interview soon after, maybe 10 minutes later or even a week. The next step is an in-person meeting with the team leader. Honestly, the group interview feels like a waste of time; they should cover benefits after hiring. Basic questions like "Describe a memorable time you cooked something" and "Why do you want to work with New Seasons" could be handled in a phone screening instead of making everyone attend a pointless group session.

Behavioral

I had two interviews for different new store openings. They were friendly, but at the second one, I felt they were really overwhelmed and burned out from interviewing. I've had about seven interviews already, meeting managers and such. I wonder if you need to know someone to get a job there. They asked typical behavioral questions, which I'm good at given my 18 years of customer service experience with all sorts of people, speaking Spanish, and having retail cashier experience. I'm willing to work any shift. It's not complicated. I know a lot goes into hiring, but I stay at jobs where I'm happy, treated well, and paid for my skills. I'm still applying, mainly to say I did, but I'm losing faith. Friends who worked there said it took them a long time to get hired. At a recent Meet the Managers event, everyone was new to Portland, but I have a Portland address and am invested here. Maybe I don't have the 'young hipster look' they want.
