I had a phone call with a recruiter, who is based in Michigan, to discuss my past jobs. Then, I had an interview that same week with a sales manager in Chicago. The manager looked over my resume and told me about the company. The interview was pretty short. When they asked if I had questions, I had a few. It seemed like the manager didn't fully understand or answer my questions, which was a red flag, especially when they mentioned a high turnover rate and that everyone there had been working for less than a year. After my questions, I talked to one of the top Account Executives about their experience. They mostly said the same things as the sales manager but with a bit more detail. Lastly, I met with the general manager, who asked me some new questions about why I'm interested in sales and how long I've been looking for a job.

Behavioral Technical Other

The interview process was long and very personal. Before the interview, you have to take a personality test, and when you arrive, they make you take a 'placement' test. They ask questions about your childhood, starting from kindergarten, and about your family and the personality types you don't get along with. During one interview, the interviewer kept cutting me off mid-sentence during a 'power interview' because she 'heard what she was looking for.' I interviewed with four different people on separate days because interviewers kept canceling on the original scheduled day. It was unprofessional, and the atmosphere felt awkward and tense. They never contacted me to inform me I didn't get the job. When I followed up, they repeatedly said they were still interviewing other candidates and that someone would contact me, but it's been over four months.

Behavioral Presentation

The process was very well orchestrated. I got to meet with key executives, sellers, and other employees. I found out about the role through industry contacts. The first step was a phone screen with the main hiring decision-makers. After that, I met the President of Sales (the hiring manager at the time) and the CEO. I also met with important exec team members like the COO and the GM of Boston. It was great because it was thorough, and I got to see the company, culture, and the people I'd work with. This setup let me interview them too, which is always key when looking for a new job.

Presentation Behavioral

I was invited by the training manager at the Anaheim, CA location to go to their training center to perform a so called "test teach" interview. I received an e-mail detailing the time and to arrive early to prepare the classroom. I got at the training facility more than half-an-hour early for the teach. Ten minutes after the scheduled time I was still waiting to be introduced and meet the people I am going to test teach. When I met them, I was then informed that I will be recorded while conducting this test teach. I was very surprised because I wasn't told previously.

  • How are you feeling following the test teach session?
