Got contacted by HR on LinkedIn. There were 4 interview rounds in total. The first round was a HackerEarth programming test. The second round was a technical HR interview with 3 medium-level programming questions, covering Java concepts like oops, threads, collections, exceptions, and basic SQL queries. The third round was another technical HR interview focusing on Spring, Hibernate, and SQL, along with Java concepts (medium questions). The final round was with the Hiring Manager, who asked about design concepts using microservices for a Ticket Booking App similar to BookMyShow. I had really bad internet issues during this round, which seemed to irritate the interviewer.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Explain exception handling concepts, differentiate between throw and throws, and list the different types.
  • Can you describe the internal workings of Hashmap, HashSet, and concurrent hashmap?
  • What are some basic Spring questions, such as scopes, auto wiring, and the MVC flow?

Recruiter called me and shared the details of the position and scheduled based on my convenient time. But it is only on Weekdays. Recruiter way of processing seems fine and professional. The first interview round was with a panel, and it went well. The panel then told me another panel member would join for the second round. However, after a short wait, they informed me the HR was on leave and asked me to leave for the day. Upon contacting the recruiter, I was told the interview did not go well. This is surprising and suggests unprofessionalism.

Neustar Software Engineer Interview Questions

Quoted word for word from Neustar interview reports.

Given a massive dataset of number prefixes and their corresponding charges, determine the charge for a given number. If multiple prefixes match, use the longest one. Example: Data: 93423:10, 93523:12, 934:32, 9342:14, 9523:21. Number: 9342312341. Output: 10. Consider space and time complexity for this huge amount of data.
