Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Neuberger.
Intern
Started with a few questions, then had an in-person interview at their office, which was really nice. Had a couple of rounds of interviews with different team members, ranging from junior to senior, so it was good to see the ability to work with different people on the team.
- Can you tell me about your knowledge of ESG products?
Intern
There were several rounds of interviews. The focus was heavily on understanding my interests, specifically asking about books and movies I enjoyed, and probing my motivations for pursuing asset management. They weren't as interested in my opinions on current events or a prepared pitch, but rather in assessing my potential fit with the company and my long-term career goals.
- What was your favorite book this year?
- What was your favorite movie this year?
Intern
It was a 40-minute interview. They didn't present the firm or the role, they just jumped straight into asking about my background and then moved on to technical questions.
- Can you discuss your motivations for applying?
- What do you consider your strengths to be?
- What are your weaknesses?
