I was contacted by a recruiter, then I completed an online test. After that, I went to the company for an in-person interview with my potential team lead and with HR separately. Then there was a long wait before I got the job offer.

I applied for a role that was advertised as an automation developer. However, the hiring process revealed that the position was actually much more focused on problem-solving within Netsuite's cloud infrastructure, rather than automation development. While I appreciated the overall experience and met some great people, I felt the role description was a bit misleading and didn't align with my expectations. The first stage involved an email exchange where I had to complete some algorithmic tasks. Following that, I had an onsite interview at Netsuite where I tackled similar algorithmic problems using a notepad and a whiteboard, with two Netsuite employees assisting me. After that, there was a 'social' round with general questions about my background, and I also had the chance to ask my own questions. A third round, focused on QA topics and puzzles, was scheduled for the following week, but I declined to proceed because the job wasn't what I had anticipated.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Tasks on the whiteboard are fine if you get them right. Don't hesitate to ask the Netsuite folks – they're there to help.

I went through three written exams and three interviews for this role. The first exam had essay questions, some java coding, SQL scripts, and other general problem solving questions. The second exam was pretty similar to the first one and I did it right after my interview with peers. The third exam was mostly general problem solving with some math and logic involved. The interviews were mainly about my work experience and how I'd fit into the position. They said I'd get feedback for each step within 7 days. The whole thing took about a month from start to finish.

  • For a logic question requiring out-of-the-box thinking: If a bead doubles every second and a room fills up from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, what's the time when the room is 1/4 full?
