First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NetSPI.
Penetration Tester
On the first call, they asked good technical questions to check my technical abilities. We also talked about the general company environment and what a penetration tester does day-to-day. They asked me about my current skills and some examples of things I've done in my previous jobs.
- Can you explain Active Directory exploitation concerning Role based delegation?
Senior Software Engineer
The interview had 3 rounds in total. The first round was about DSA, covering easy and medium difficulties. The second round focused on Java, specifically Multithreading and Spring Boot, and also included questions about my CV and projects. The final round was with a manager, where we discussed my CV again, along with some basic system design concepts and puzzles.
- Can you write a program to generate a Pascal Triangle?
- How would you calculate the value of a String expressed in Reverse Polish Notation using a program?
- Tell me about your experience with Java Multithreading.
Security Consultant
The interview process was pretty straightforward and mostly focused on understanding your interests, like what got you into the field and why you liked this particular job. But, the pay is a big issue. The starting salary is really low, and there's a strict two-year commitment. If you leave before the two years are up, you have to pay a hefty penalty. Even if you stay the whole time, the promotion only bumps the salary to $70k, which I don't think is fair for the work. For fresh grads, I'd suggest looking for other jobs with better pay and growth. There are tons of great roles out there worth looking into!
- Can you explain Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) and its remediation techniques?
UX Designer
Applied and had an initial HR call. Then interviewed with the head of Product Management and another designer. The process seemed promising initially but quickly deteriorated. The first interview was standard, but follow-up communication was poor. The second interview was conducted via phone while the interviewer was at an airport waiting for a flight, making it hard to hear and distracting. This made me feel like my interview wasn't a priority. After the third interview, I was ghosted. I emailed the recruiter twice for an update but got no response.
- Can you share an experience designing a brand new product from scratch?
