I had a 15 minute call and then a 1 hour 15 technical. The first was just a get to know you and the technical was a bit harder. The first part is a 30 min behavioural and the second is a 45 min technical.

So, HR initially told me it was gonna be three rounds: one technical, one behavioral, and one managerial. The first round was technical, and it was pretty much all about Core Java, my past projects, and the tech I’ve used. They also threw in a few Angular questions. It went for about an hour. Round 2 was behavioral, mostly digging into my work experience, how I handle different situations, and examples of teamwork. This one was shorter, around 30 minutes, and it went fine. After those two, HR said I was shortlisted and gave me good feedback from the interviewers. But then, everything just stopped. No managerial round was ever set up, and even after reaching out multiple times, there was no real update or resolution. Eventually, HR just ghosted me. Honestly, it was a bad experience. They were super quick to schedule the first two rounds, but then they just went radio silent and were dismissive. The managerial round was never scheduled.

I first spoke with someone at the career fair for about 30-45 minutes and handed over my resume. The chat was quite long and went deep into technology topics. Unexpectedly, I got an email two weeks later asking me to come in for an onsite interview. Usually, companies do the campus interview first. I went to the onsite interview in Overland Park, KS. The hospitality was amazing; I was put up in a nice hotel nearby. They invited a group of us candidates for dinner the night before the interview. They were friendly and created a good vibe. Something you'll hear a lot from Netsmart people is the word "intentionally"; they don't even call their employees "employees" but "Associates" and interns "Futures." The onsite interview included breakfast/lunch, a tour of the office, and three interviews that were quite similar in some ways. I was interviewed by two managers and a current software engineer.
