Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NETSCOUT.
Intern
First round was an offline written test with MCQs. It covered aptitude, OS, and Computer Networking. Aptitude questions were a bit difficult, while OS and CN questions were easy.
- Questions related to ratio and proportions, and age in aptitude.
- Questions on OS concepts including threads.
- Questions on Computer Networking like TCP and UDP.
Intern
It was a series of phone interviews. The interviewers were not responsive and took weeks to follow up. I never got a rejection, just silence. The recruiter wasn't in the same office and couldn't answer basic questions. The hiring manager and team didn't ask many questions and seemed to have already picked someone. Overall a really negative experience.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Intern
There were three interviewers for this role. They asked about my resume projects and experience. They also asked some questions about network troubleshooting, like how to find the error if we can't access a server for a specific port. Some questions were about network technologies and routing/switching technologies. The interview was 2 hours long.
- Can you explain the three-way handshake in TCP?
