Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NetJets.
Sales Consultant
I had high hopes for NetJets, but my interview experience was disappointing. Even though my resume showed solid experience, I was told I wasn't successful due to a 'lack of experience,' which felt contradictory given they interviewed me. The recruiter had a dismissive tone from the start, mentioning 'a lot of competition' early on. I got the impression that hiring decisions were based more on appearance than qualifications, and noticed a lack of diversity, suggesting a disadvantage for people of color. I'd advise people of color to check LinkedIn profiles and team pages to see if they see people who look like them, to help set expectations. I stayed professional, but felt it was important to call out inequity.
- What is your understanding of NetJets?
Sales Consultant
The whole thing took about two weeks because they needed to fill the role fast. A recruiter reached out, and I had my first in-person chat with the HR Manager, then with the Department Coordinator. That was about an hour, and we talked about my previous work. A few days later, I had two phone calls with the Global Director and the VP, where they really focused on why I wanted the job and my commitment to it.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a challenging client situation.
Sales Consultant
It was very conversational with the hiring manager, who made me feel comfortable. The second interview was with the hiring manager and his boss. Both interviews were fairly simple and made the process easy and laid back.
- Can you tell me about one of your strongest qualities?
