Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Netcompany.
Senior Java Developer
Started with a 30min recruiter call, asking basic stuff like why netcompany, my background, and if I fit the role. Then, there were two back-to-back 1-hour interviews on the same day. The first was a business competency interview with a Manager, which went well, they seemed engaged. The second was a case study interview with another technical manager, where the interviewer seemed a bit checked out. This case study involved designing a transport system, like the oyster card, asking for a use case diagram, focusing on specific features, and then writing some Java code and SQL for table joins. This last interview really seemed to be the deciding factor; if the interviewer is engaged, you can really have a good back-and-forth, but if not... After the interviews, I was ghosted for a bit, then got a generic rejection saying requirements weren't met. Seemed like a good company, too bad about the interview process.

Java Developer
There were two rounds, the first one with the manager, mostly discussing the company and the projects I would be working on. I was asked some situational questions like "what would you do in this situation...". The second round was a technical one, with basic programming questions and I had to code some algorithms in a leet code style.
- What is your motivation for this role?
- What would you do in this situation?
- Do you have experience with basic programming concepts?
Java Engineer
It went pretty smoothly, first they had me do a project, then a technical interview where we talked about Java core concepts, Kafka, Redis, and microservices. They also gave me two LeetCode problems, one easy and one medium. The interviewer was nice.
- Tell me about OOP concepts.
- Can you solve these LeetCode problems?
