Behavioral Technical

I went through the interview process for a Corporate Trainer, Systems & Training role. The early interactions with the recruiter were professional and communicative, but the overall experience could have been better. My first conversation with the Chief Learning Officer was unusually uncomfortable. She joined the interview over 10 minutes late, didn't acknowledge the delay, and her tone was difficult to engage with. Some of my answers were challenged in a way that felt more combative than constructive, making it hard to understand the expectations. It seemed like she had a very specific idea of who she wanted, based on the previous person in the role, and instead of judging my experience on its own, I was often compared to them. After several rounds, with strong feedback and the recruiter saying I was the final candidate they wanted, I was asked to talk to the CLO again to 'discuss growth and compensation.' But that follow-up wasn't a negotiation. It was more about repeating why they wouldn't change their compensation range, even though it didn't match market rates or my experience. It felt dishonest and disrespectful of my time. Every interview was scheduled for an hour, which felt like a lot to ask given the whole process and the lack of clear expectations. Finally, from what I understood, it was clear this job would involve a lot of hard work — like reorganizing the training department, rebuilding key programs, and improving reporting — but the pay didn't match the scope or seniority of these tasks. It felt like the training team was short-staffed and not doing well in some important areas, and instead of hiring someone to truly support and improve the function, the approach seemed under-resourced.

This was a great interview, they are asking pretty much your general scenario questions dealing with cloud. Just prepare yourself for technical scenario based questions. There is several rounds you might have to go through.

I went through 8 interview rounds, which took over 2 months. After initial chats with the Director of Recruiting, their manager, another HR person, and a senior stakeholder, the hiring manager kept adding more interviews every couple of weeks, saying each time it would be the last one. Some interviewers didn't seem to know why they were interviewing me or what the role entailed. Then, the hiring manager suddenly cancelled the remaining interviews. After several weeks of being ghosted, I was told they decided to hire a contractor instead. One interviewer also asked me to do some unpaid work editing and adapting a job description.

Behavioral Technical Other

I had 3 phone interviews. First was an HR screening, then a hiring manager interview, and another with an analyst. After that, I had a face-to-face meeting with the office and another analyst. The interview itself was good and I felt I connected with the team. However, the HR manager was rude when extending the offer, stating I was a liability until trained. The pay wasn't great either, below average, and they wanted to look at my past employment for my rate instead of what I'd received as a contractor.
