First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nestlé USA.
Financial Analyst
First, HR1 gave me a call to broadly screen me, covering my interest, qualifications, and salary expectations. He said HR2 would call to schedule a phone interview with the finance team. HR2 was supposed to call next, but never did. About a week later, HR1 called back, saying HR2 claimed to have spoken with me and that I was asking for more money than we had discussed, which wasn't true as HR2 never called. A phone interview with the finance team was still set for the following week. In this final step, I spoke with the hiring manager and a peer financial analyst. The hiring manager explained the job and answered my questions, then wrapped up. They didn't ask me anything. It was all really weird.
- How did you find out about Nestlé?
Financial Analyst
It began with a recruiter phone screen, then a hiring manager phone screen, followed by an in-person interview with the hiring manager and team members. After the in-person went well, I had a phone interview with the Finance director and the Finance HR manager. The whole thing took 3 months from applying to getting the offer, with the first 2 months being a slow process to even get the initial phone call. After the in-person and phone interviews, I got the offer the same day.
- Can you share an instance of a conflict you had with your boss?
- Describe the biggest risk you've taken when you felt you were doing the right thing.
- Can you recount a situation where you solved a problem?
Financial Analyst
For an internal move, it began with a casual chat with the hiring manager to understand the role better. This was followed by an HR screening and scheduling of interviews. Then there were about two to four behavioral interviews with the hiring panel, which included the hiring manager and other managers.
- Can you share an instance where you handled a workplace conflict or a challenging situation?
- Describe a time you put a strategy into action in your present position.
- Tell me about a project with many moving parts that you managed. How did you handle it?
