First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NEORIS.
Data Engineer
Initial screening call explaining the project to confirm my interest. Then a technical interview and later a technical test with the client. The whole process took about a month until the final decision, and then another 15 days for the contract signing, so around a month and a half in total.
- Can you discuss your previous projects and your specific contributions to them?
- What experience do you have with Microsoft Azure?
- Could you describe your familiarity with Databricks?
QA Tester
I had two interviews before a technical one, and they were very patient, which I really appreciated. They offered me the chance to work remotely, so I did my internship from home, which was very comfortable. They also had a month-long onboarding to get us adapted to the technologies.
- Could you explain object-oriented programming?
- What is the concept of polymorphism?
- What is the concept of inheritance?
Senior Frontend Developer
My interview for the SENIOR role had 3 steps: first, fetch data and display it, second, handle click events to do something with it, and third, create an input field to filter the data. In the third step, they expected me to recall string and array methods from memory, which is absurd for a technical test, like asking a mathematician to not use a calculator. I didn't pass because of that detail. They didn't ask about SOLID, design patterns, leadership, or Git. They had no idea who they would hire if I passed, and the person who did pass might not even know how to do an OAuth with Google. It was a sad experience with them and the interviewer Carlos; the industry suffers from mediocre people.
- The interview for SENIOR involved 3 steps: 1. Fetching and displaying data, 2. Interacting with the data upon clicking, and 3. Building an input to filter the data.
Machine Learning Engineer
Lots of technical questions focused on metrics related to model deployment, what tech I used, what metrics I know, what cloud I use, etc. The interview was very conversational and according to the recruiter I passed but then they ghosted me.
- What do typical ML engineer questions involve regarding metrics for model deployment?
- Can you elaborate on the technologies you've used for ML deployment?
- Which metrics are you familiar with?
