A recruiter from a staffing agency contacted me on LinkedIn. Her colleague called me the next day with only 30 minutes notice and hadn't sent the job description beforehand. The phone call went okay, and I mentioned I'd send my resume within an hour. She called me three times in that hour to ensure I sent all requested information while I was still revising my resume. I never heard back. I followed up with the recruiter a week later and got no response. I then followed up with her supervisor, who said she'd get back to me, but never did. A week after that, I followed up again for an update and got a one-word response with no feedback. It felt like I was just a number for their quota.

I had an initial 30 minute phone screening. The next week, I went in person to the office. The receptionist was nice, and the manager came to meet me and took me to her office where the rest of the team was. It was all very pleasant. Some questions were structured, but we were able to talk naturally and transition between topics. We laughed a lot which helped with nerves.

The hiring and interview process was lengthy and demanding, which was surprising since I'd applied with them before. They insisted I reapply. I was there for about 2.5-3 hours and needed more information than I was initially told, requiring me to leave and come back. It was also difficult because my recent freelance work in entertainment productions doesn't easily fit into their standard application format.
