First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Neiman Marcus.
Intern
I got this internship by applying through my college/university. I had an interview with the HR executive at the Atlanta location. The interview lasted around 30 minutes. It felt really professional and a bit more intense than other places I've interviewed, but it wasn't hard. This interview was specifically for an internship position in Atlanta, not the corporate one, as their hiring process is different.
- Can you describe yourself using just three words?
- What would you say is your biggest weakness?
- How do your peers or colleagues typically describe you?
Intern
Application submission, then a retail math test. Pass that and get a 30 min phone interview with a recruiter covering experience, leadership, learning style, goals, and motivation. Pass that and write a 2-page essay responding to a prompt. Finally, interview with an executive via video or in person.
- What makes you want to work for Neiman Marcus?
- In your professional life and geographically, where do you envision yourself in five years?
- What are your expectations from a manager?
Intern
This was a very interactive and comfortable interview. They asked behavioral questions about my career development and what changes I would make to the business. I got to talk about my knowledge of the retail industry and my analysis of current trends. We also discussed where I see my career in the future and if it's with the company or not. I also went over my resume and knew it very well.
- Can you introduce yourself?
