First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NEC Corporation.
Java Developer
So, I applied for this Java Developer role at Tech Mahindra for their client NEC Tech. First, there was a quick call with TechMahindra. After that, they said it was just one client interview, and I was done. But when I got to the NEC office, it was a huge walk-in with over 100 people! They had us all take a written test with coding problems, output questions, and code corrections. After that, pretty much everyone got sent home.
- Can you generate a UUID?
- How would you sort an employee by salary and name without using Collections.sort?
- Write a class that correctly implements the hashcode and equals methods.
Senior Java Developer
There was a pen and paper written test with 2 programming questions and 16 MCQs. After the written test, we had to wait for 4-5 hours for the first face-to-face interview. If we asked HR about it, they kept saying to wait a few more minutes. After the face-to-face round, they said they'd update us soon. It seems like you need a known employee to get through. The recruitment team was highly unprofessional.
- Tell me about Core Java.
- Write a SQL query.
Java Developer
It was a face-to-face interview. The agent said it was an HR interview, but when I attended, I was interviewed by two technical team leads. They asked resume-based questions about my project skills and experience. The whole thing was less than 25 minutes.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What do you know about Java?
- Can you explain OOPs, Spring Boot, and MVC?
