Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NCSOFT.
Software Engineer
I applied to NCSoft via an employee referral and the whole process wrapped up in about 3 weeks. I had two rounds of onsite interviews. The first was a 2-hour technical interview where I tackled some problems and discussed my past work. The second was a 1-hour final interview which was mostly about them, and they asked some pretty immature questions.
- They presented some technical problems and asked me to demonstrate how I would solve them. They also inquired about my accomplishments in previous roles.
- They briefly asked about my previous work experience and then posed some other questions that seemed immature and annoying, revealing their underlying intentions.
Software Engineer
After applying online, I went through just one round. It was a fast, simple, and pleasant experience. I met the entire team, and they all asked me some questions. You'll need to do some whiteboard coding. Just be sure to be confident.
- Tell me about algorithms.
- Discuss system design.
- What about your knowledge of the language?
Software Engineer
The interview process was great. Interviewers were friendly. One of the interesting parts was that there was a take home coding project. After submitting the project, there's a follow-up meeting regarding the project. They ask about how you implemented it and why you used certain approach.
- What makes you want to join ArenaNet?
