The interview process was super organized. First, I chatted with the recruiter, and then I had the in-person interview. This was the only in-person interview I've had where they had multiple copies of my resume, a printed PDF of the schedule with names and positions, and even a printed benefits overview. I also got to talk to team members in other offices through teleconference. It was a long afternoon, but it went by fast because I talked to a bunch of different people from various groups. They were all really sharp and asked great questions to check my experience and see if I'd be a good cultural fit. Even though the company was going through a transition like many game companies, the team was really positive and real. Overall, it was a great experience and made the company look good.

Applied via LinkedIn and got a quick reply from the head recruiter. Had an initial phone chat with the recruiter, followed by a conversation with the hiring manager for the role a few days later. Both interactions were professional and direct. The final stage involved a 4-hour onsite interview at the San Mateo HQ, meeting with about 8-9 individuals. The coordination and HR staff were very welcoming, even arranging lunch. The interview overall felt smooth and relaxed. I had one missed meeting with a team member, which led to a follow-up Skype interview a few days later. An offer came two days after the final interview. I was negotiating with multiple companies, and the HR team handled the negotiation process well. Despite ultimately accepting another offer (which fell through due to relocation), the HR team was understanding and respectful of my decision. It was an excellent experience, and the company's interview approach is commendable.

The interview process started with a quick 20-minute chat with HR. Then, a few days later, I had a 30-minute phone interview with the Sr. Producer, which felt like a pretty standard interview. Both people did a good job explaining NCSoft, the company's goals, and what the Producer role involves. They were easy to talk to and answered my questions well. Sadly, that was the end of the line for me, probably because I haven't worked on MMOs much and don't know NCSoft's games well. Still, it felt like a solid, professional experience, and I appreciated them letting me know clearly that I wasn't moving forward.

Coding

The first part was a coding challenge, they sent it with a week deadline. I spent a lot of time on it. I asked for feedback 3 times, and after 3-4 weeks they sent a rejection with brief explanations. The questions were good, but easy to find online. I got them all right, but I don't think they cared about my solution. It seemed like a filter, if your resume is strong enough, you move on.
