I had a call with a technical recruiter who asked me about my work experience and notice period, then scheduled the next round. Round 1 was with a senior technical manager. The interviewer was friendly and seemed to understand the role well. We mostly talked about the responsibilities of my past projects and they gave me some scenarios to propose solutions for. Round 2 involved two people from the onsite team. They covered basic automation and manual testing concepts, gave a quick overview of the tools they use, and what their expectations are before joining the project.

The interview process was tough. It involved 4 people. Three of them asked standard questions about technical ability and management expertise, but one interviewer asked some really out-there questions. I got the job offer, but then they rescinded it right before my start date because of my credit score! I had no idea they had hiring criteria similar to getting a mortgage. It was a ridiculous process, especially since they pulled the offer just 3 days before I was supposed to start. Honestly, it helped me weed out a company with such odd policies. Their loss.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process involved several people. I spoke with two women, a QA lead and a QA manager, who were very professional. However, one manager, a guy who seemed to be a PM, was quite rude. He asked some pretty antagonistic questions, like "All you do is say buzzwords!" and "I'm sorry but you just don't seem genuine." I suspect he might have been trying to get a friend into the role and was being difficult with other candidates. It makes me wonder how others at NCR handle him. Good thing he has an office to close the door.
