Customer Engineer
If you pass the mechanical aptitude test, they'll call you for an interview. If not, you'll hear nothing. It's your typical phone interview first, and if you impress, they'll do a face to face.
- Are you computer literate?
- Do you have experience with electro-mechanics?
- Do you have experience with networks?

The interview process itself was okay, although the feedback between stages took a very long time. What really upset me was finding out I had passed ALL stages, including with the manager for the contract in Fortaleza, but my 'RETURN' to the company was blocked by a Regional Manager. I left the company in 2019 (resigned) and since then I've always spoken highly of NCR and never mentioned the bad parts of working there, just because one person out of dozens or hundreds of people I worked with didn't deserve me mentioning them, this same manager who blocked my return today. Ah, and I was always an excellent employee and even months after I left, I continued to help those who called me asking for assistance. Before leaving, I made sure to hand over my responsibilities to a colleague with enough knowledge to handle my cases without any issues. So, I left on good terms. I left because there was a very veiled persecution at the time. I worked at NCR for 7 years, and in the end, I was already upset and didn't feel like giving my best, so I decided it wasn't worth staying there anymore. 3 years later (now in 2022), I was invited to participate in a selection process to return, and today I felt comfortable returning and offering my best again, because as I always said, NCR is an excellent company. Even so, I called that manager and told him I was invited to participate in the selection to return and asked if there were any problems; if there were, I wouldn't even try, and he immediately said there was never any problem. I was happy and started the process. Weeks passed, and from time to time the HR lady would talk to me, saying this or that was missing and that she was resolving it, and in the end, I received the information I already mentioned at the beginning: I was approved in 'everything' but the manager decided at the end, at the hiring stage, to remove my name from the vacancy. Colleagues of mine from back then called me to talk and told me he commented that he heard I was going to be a father (my wife is pregnant and our baby has Down syndrome). Curiously, the manager had entered my social media and liked all my posts. In short, I confess I'm tired of all this. Others there suffer the same things but prefer to stay to keep their jobs. I left and really wanted to come back, but these events served to remind me how toxic that work environment is. I don't want to discourage anyone from joining this company, just to keep an eye out and if you feel any kind of moral harassment, report it to HR. I never did that; I thought it was better to throw away my career at the company, and I know that was the wrong decision.

My first interview was a quick phone call. Then I had a second interview at a restaurant because NCR doesn't have local offices and they often use hotels and restaurants for interviews, which I found pretty unprofessional. During the interview, the hiring manager kept getting interrupted by phone calls and emails. Later on, for other jobs, I had interviews at hotels where multiple managers were on their laptops, answering texts and calls, totally checked out of the interview.
- I drove to NY for a specific position, but was it actually for a different position in another region?
- Are the hiring managers who interviewed me still working at NCR?
