First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NBC Sports Group.
Intern
It was a nice interview and felt genuine. I think I got the job but heard back after two weeks. They asked general and conversational questions. I prepped about the company, its culture, and the day-to-day responsibilities.
- Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
- What makes you interested in this particular role?
Intern
The interview process was overall a great experience. There were three interviews back to back. I spoke with the Head of the internship program, someone from the marketing department, and someone from human resources. Everyone was kind, fair, and definitely an equal opportunity employer. The first person I spoke with, who was the head of the internship program, even suggested other programs I might be interested in. I was applying for a marketing internship, and the two women from the marketing department had the best interviewing skills I've ever seen. It felt like a conversation, with no tension in the room, which allowed them to get a glimpse of my personality. During interviews, it's important to prove what you claim, but in marketing, it's all about how you think, which was the challenging part. The final step was to sit down with someone from HR, which was your typical human resources interview. We went through a set of questions that they ask every intern, the basis of which was to prove what you claim through experiences. Thankfully, the HR representative had a good personality, though some of the questions were tough. The interview was just the other day, and I'm waiting to hear back.
- What makes you interested in marketing?
- Tell me about times you've added value to a business.
- Are you familiar with the app?
Intern
Very easy. I emailed my resume and cover letter. The next day they called to schedule an interview. I went downtown for a 15 minute interview where they asked who I am, my educational background, and my work experience. They said they would follow up. I thought it went well but never heard back. Very unprofessional.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
