First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NBBJ.
Intern
We had an online interview where we chatted about my portfolio and the areas I'm keen on working in. I was asked to share instances of teamwork and how I work with others. We also discussed what I hoped to gain from the internship and how long I wanted it to be.
- Can you walk me through your portfolio and previous work?
- Could you elaborate on your portfolio and your preferred areas of focus?
- Share some examples of when you've worked effectively in a team.
Intern
I had two interviews back-to-back from my school's job fair. They both seemed to go well and I was excited about the possibility of a summer internship, but unfortunately, Covid-19 put a halt to everything and we couldn't move forward. We exchanged some emails afterward, but I decided it was best for me to look for other opportunities, especially since it was safer than staying in NY.
- Can you discuss your portfolio and any projects you've worked on?
- What would you consider your strengths, and how would they benefit NBBJ?
Intern
I sent in my application online and it took about three months to hear back. After that, I had a Skype interview where I chatted with a studio director. The interview felt really relaxed and enjoyable, and everyone I met was super friendly.
- Could you tell me about some of your favorite projects and explain your reasons for choosing them?
