Logistics Specialist
You get a list of questions, get a little time to prep, then you interview and answer them in any order you want. You have a tight time limit to answer everything, and you're interviewed by a panel of about 5 people. It's pretty unnerving, to be honest.
- Tell me about a difficult situation you managed.
Aerospace Engineer
Navair came to my university for a job fair and info session where I showed interest. I talked to engineers and gave them my resume. I got a call that same afternoon for an on-campus interview the next day for an entry level materials engineer job. This was my first engineering interview ever, and I tried to prep the night before. The interview was supposed to be 30 mins but went for 45 mins. It included about 4 behavioral and interest questions. Afterward, I got to ask the engineer questions to show my interest. At the end, I asked about who to contact and when I'd hear back. The interviewer dodged giving contact info and said I was a better fit for another subsystem, and he'd send my notes to that hiring manager. I never got a follow-up call about acceptance or rejection, which made me lose interest.
- Can you describe a time you faced and solved a problem?
- What motivated you to choose Navair?
- What are your thoughts on what Navair represents?
Mechanical Engineer
It was a full day event on a weekday. We got a brief tour of the base and heard from a few different teams. Then, I had interviews with three teams that seemed like a good fit based on my resume, with each interview lasting about an hour. After that, they had us rank the teams we interviewed with. Within a day or so, I heard back about which teams were interested, and then I got to choose where to go. Initially, only one team made an offer, but when I turned it down, the other two teams suddenly also extended offers.
- Can you discuss everything on your resume?
Software Engineer
Applied through career fair and got an on-campus interview the next day. This interview was easy, just behavioral questions. Then I had two phone interviews with hiring managers and I'm being called for a site visit now. Overall it was easy. No real technical questions. The people were nice to talk to. Just be yourself. Show some patriotism.
- Why do you want to work for Navair?
- Can you write a for-loop to add 1 through 10 and print the results?
- Describe a time you had a conflict in a team.
