Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union.
Supervisor
It was a quick but tough interview. I did a lot of practice interviews to get ready for leadership questions. It went well overall because I practiced.
- Can you share an example of how you stayed organized?
- Tell me about how you approach leadership.
- How do you foster a team-oriented environment?
Supervisor
If you're prepared and know your banking and leadership stuff, it should go fine. You'll interview with different team leaders, and it'll be at a neutral spot. Everyone was super friendly. It was a good experience overall.
- What's your approach to managing a challenging team member?
Supervisor
Applied online and got an email by the end of the week asking for my salary target. Replied to that email and got an interview request the next week. At the same time, I got a few exercises to do: one on writing, one on editing, one on my toughest supervising challenge, and one on understanding company culture by writing a message in their voice. I had four days, including the weekend, to do them on my own time. The interview was 45 minutes, with three managers. It was just one interview and then the decision was made.
- Be ready to quickly have several examples of how you handle various situations as a supervisor.
