Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union.
Senior Manager
The company doesn't have a set way of interviewing, so it can be a bit all over the place. The interviews might be specific to the job or more about how you handle situations. Usually, two managers are involved in the interview panel.
- Can you share an instance where you navigated disagreements among senior management?
Manager
The hiring process was really fast, taking only about a week. I applied on a Friday, and by Monday, I got an email with an assessment. After finishing that, I had to call in to set up an interview. The interview itself was all about behavioral questions, and I got an offer the very next day. I didn't actually start for another two weeks because of their training schedule. A tip for anyone interviewing: definitely negotiate your salary. They offer a starting salary of 38k to everyone, no matter their experience.
- Describe a situation where you had to deal with a challenging team member.
Manager
The branch manager was friendly and helpful. I was interviewed by both the branch manager and the assistant branch manager. The interview was formal, but fun. The interaction was not too uptight, which was nice. Mid-interview, our conversation changed as they inquired about me taking a different position. It was unexpected, but nice.
- Can you tell me about a time you couldn't solve a customer's problem?
