Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Navy Federal Credit Union.
Summer Associate
It's a very easy process, based on your resume and asking about past experiences. They want to know your general interest in the role. It's pretty much like having a chat. If you treat it like one, you'll do great. It's only one interview and it's an hour long.
- Can you share an instance where a project proved to be too challenging for you?
Summer Associate
It's a two-stage process: first, an HR phone screen, then a panel interview with three people covering both technical and behavioral aspects. You should hear back about two weeks after the final interview.
- Given the model results you've shown, what business strategy would you suggest?
Summer Associate
The interview process was super smooth! First, I had an HR round where I got all the details about the job, future, benefits, and company culture. Then, I moved to a technical round with the hiring manager, which was an hour-long technical assessment. The interviewers were really friendly and interested in my career and projects. The hiring manager explained the role's expectations and tasks clearly. We discussed my interest in contributing to large-scale systems in financial services at NFCU. A week later, HR called with a job offer, covering benefits and compensation. The background check was initiated after that, and the whole thing wrapped up in about 3-4 weeks.
- Can you describe your professional journey and any challenges you encountered?
- Please provide more details about your projects and volunteer work.
- Could you elaborate on your interest and motivation to contribute to large-scale systems in financial services?
