First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Navigant.
Consultant
Really disorganized interview process from the start. They had a pre-interview event at a restaurant that they forgot to invite us to until the day of. It's been six weeks since my first interview on campus and I still haven't heard back. I've followed up with the recruiter multiple times and they keep saying they're still deciding on second-round interviews and that I'll hear something 'next week'. This is the third time I've heard that. It's been six weeks. Get it together, Navigant. Either reject me or give me a second round. I'm assuming it's a no at this point though. The on-campus first round was pretty straightforward.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
Managing Consultant
It was a bunch of phone screens, then an onsite interview day that was basically a Super Day. The onsite included talking about what I've done before, a presentation on a revenue cycle topic, brunch chat, and a quick meeting with a founder, similar to a Super Day setup. They're really focused on back end and systems, and they're in an integration period with Navigant, so they're figuring out how things fit. Everyone was really nice and professional. I turned down the offer because they wanted to hire me as a Senior Consultant, not a Managing Consultant. Apparently, this is something they do to get people in and try to impress them with the company, as I've heard from others. Just make sure you're clear on the position you're interviewing for. Their pay seems to be in the mid to high range for big firms in the industry.
- How have you helped your team members grow?
- Describe a situation where a client disagreed with your advice.
- What's your approach to managing?
Consultant
So, first I had a screening interview, then a behavioral interview, and after that, there were 4 interviews back-to-back. These included a technical interview, a case interview, and 2 more behavioral interviews. The on-site interviews were each about 30 minutes. I spoke with one of the managing consultants, a director, and a few senior consultants. It was a really positive experience overall, and I was super impressed with the whole group. They were all clear about what they expect from people at the company and in consulting, and they seemed genuinely interested in my career growth there. They really emphasized work-life balance and wanted someone who would fit well into a team that works collaboratively.
- Can you walk me through a clinical operations case interview?
- Describe your technical background and how you can leverage it in this role.
- What makes you want to join Navigant?
