I was pretty nervous when I interviewed with Natixis, a global mid-size investment bank. I had been laid off by my previous employer and was really keen to get back to work asap. Kiyofumi Toriyama, my interviewer, was super helpful by sharing his own experiences interviewing with investment banks. He mentioned he had worked at five different banks in four different cities, and that an interview isn't the be-all and end-all in finding the right candidate. Hearing that made me relax a bit, knowing that if I didn't nail the interview, it wouldn't mean I wouldn't have another shot. If I was the right fit, I'd get the job based on my actual abilities, not just my interviewing skills. It was a welcome change from other interviews I've been through.

Behavioral Case Technical

I had a two-hour interview with the managers. It started with typical background and personality questions. Then, we moved on to a case study where I had to analyze a public company and determine the risk of a loan. I was given an hour to prepare for the case. After that, I presented my opinion on the loan and discussed it with the managers, and they asked some more technical questions.

Applied online, the interview was online as well and it was a good experience. First, they presented the company, then we did some group activities as part of the process, and at the end, there was a technical interview with the team.
